
Suerie Moon
Suerie Moon is Research Director and Co-Chair of the Forum on Global Governance for Health at Harvard Global Health Institute and Harvard School of Public Health. She is also the Co-Director of the Project on Innovation and Access to Technologies for Sustainable Development, Sustainability Science Program, Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Her work focuses on global governance, the evolution of international regimes, the political economy of global health (particularly innovation, access to medicines,intellectual property and equity), and innovative policies for addressing global problems. Prior to coming to Harvard, she worked for the Medecins Sans Frontires/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) international Campaign for Access to Essential Medicines, where she focused on intellectual property rights, equity prices for medicines, and research and development into neglected diseases. She has also consulted on access to medicines policies for MSF, Oxfam, the Medicines Patent Pool, UNAIDS, UNITAID and the World Health Organization.Dr. Moon is a member of the Board of Directors of MSF-USA, the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative-North America, the expert Proposal Review Committee of UNITAID, and the Global Advisory Committee of the WHO project on local production for access to medical products. She received a BA in History from Yale University, an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and a PhD in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
