
Renata Amaral
Renata Vargas Amaral is a Brazilian lawyer and a legal specialist in the field of international trade law. She holds a PhD in International Trade Law from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and from Maastricht University (The Netherlands), where she published a book titled “Cross retaliation in IP Rights: addressing member asymmetries and compliance at the WTO”. Ms. Amaral also holds a Law Degree from UFSC, a Post Graduate Specialization in dispute resolution in international trade and investment from the University of Buenos Aires and a Master in International Business Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.
Ms. Amaral has had experience as a lawyer in the Department of Foreign Trade Operations (Decex) of the Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), and as external consultant for the Brazilian Agency of Industrial Development (ABDI). Currently she is a private trade lawyer on WTO law; visiting professor of graduate courses on international trade and; guest researcher at the Institute for Globalization and International Regulation of Maastricht University. Ms. Amaral is author and co-author of several articles related to the international trade.
