Eleonora Canigiani is Trade and Food Security Advisor with the Trade and Markets Division of the Food and Agriculture Organization. She works on issues related to the governance of trade and agriculture policy-making processes, and on policy coherence. She has extensive experience in analyzing agriculture and trade related strategies and investment plans, and in building partnerships and mobilizing resources for the development of value chain projects, especially in Africa and in Least Developed Countries.
Before joining FAO, she worked with the Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and with the International Fund for Agricultural Development. She also worked with private companies mainly in the area of external relations and business development between Italy and China.
She holds a degree in Foreign Languages with a major in Chinese language and culture, and additional courses in Development Economics from Rome University la Sapienza, a Master in Marketing Management, and a postgraduate specialization in Administration, Audit and Finance from LUISS Business School.
