Dr. Aparna Sawhney is an Associate Professor at the Centre for International Trade and Development at the School of International Studies of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). She completed her Masters from the Delhi School of Economics in 1990 and her Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1995. Her publications include papers on transboundary pollution, market-based instruments, environmental public interest litigations, Indian food exports, WTO negotiations on environmental services, etc. Her current research includes International Trade in Environmental Goods, Emissions Permit Trading, Renewable Energy, Clean Development Mechanism and Technology Transfer. Prior to joining JNU, she was faculty at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. She has written strategy/ policy papers for the Indian Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Environment and Forest, ICRIER, TERI, UNCTAD, and ICTSD.
